Sioux Awards Nomination

The Sioux Award and Young Alumni Achievement Award are given to multiple recipients annually as part of the University’s Homecoming celebration in the fall. Recipients are nominated by fellow alumni, faculty, students, administration, or other professional acquaintances. UND Alumni Association & Foundation management and Board leadership recommend recipients based on nominations best fitting the following criteria:

Sioux Award

  • Unwavering commitment to the service of others.
  • High achievement throughout one’s chosen career or profession.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Loyalty to one’s alma matter through the generosity of time, talent, and treasure.

Young Alumni Achievement Award 

  • High achievement early in one’s chosen career or profession.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability. 
  • Skills that demonstrate one’s potential for leadership/distinction in the long term.
  • Substantial indications of a commitment to the service of others.

Deadline for nominations is November for the following fall’s recipients. Board approval is required as part of the winter Board meeting.
