Anyone can establish an endowment, either individually or with a group of classmates or family members. Naming opportunities are often desired and create a way to honor an individual, family or business.

Minimum Gifts
A minimum gift amount is required to establish an endowment. Minimums vary depending on the complexity and scope of your endowment and the size of annual pay out you intend to achieve.

| Student Development Fund: |

Supports and defrays costs for students who study abroad with international programs as well as to support those embarking on research ventures, presenting at national conferences, or participating in experiential learning opportunities. |
| Graduate Fellowship: |
$1 million |
An annual award, a graduate fellowship provides tuition support and stipends to outstanding students pursuing masters and doctoral degrees. Graduate Fellowships make advanced higher education attractive to the most talented students and attracts the best of them to UND. |

| Full Scholarship: |
$500,000 |
Establishing a full scholarship will provide annual funding for a student’s tuition, room and board. Variations and specifications associated are at your discretion. |
| Graduate Scholar Fund: |
$100,000 |
Provides annual support for graduate students to help defray costs of tuition, fees books, supplies and other equipment necessary for their advanced study programs. |
| Scholarship: |
$25,000 |
With a gift of this amount, a student scholarship with a minimal annual payout may be established to help build students’ financial support award and offset costs associated with their UND education. |
| Faculty Support |
| Faculty Excellence Fund: |
$1 million |
Supports all faculty in a college by providing additional financial resources for research, teaching, scholarship and creative activities. |
| Faculty Chair: |
$2.5 million |
This is the highest honor bestowed on a faculty member. Funds are used by the dean of the college and provost to supplement salary and support academic pursuits and endeavors of the holder of the chair. |
| Faculty Research Fund: |
$500,000 |
Supports faculty research in a donor’s area of interest within the Univeristy. |
| Faculty Professorship: |
$1 million |
Recognizes distinguished faculty and provides annual support for salary, teaching, or research expenses. |
| Young Faculty Scholars: |
$500,000 |
Recognizes excellence while helping identify and retain the University’s most talented junior professors and scholars while encouraging them to pursue innovative ideas and pioneer groundbreaking research. |
| Faculty Fellowship |
$500,000 |
Fellowships reward UND’s outstanding junior faculty and enhance the research and educational activities of top faculty. |

| College/School Excellence Endowment: |
$5 million |
The programs and activities supported by an endowment for a school or college within the University of North Dakota is defined by the donor in consultation with the UND President and Dean of the College you are supporting. |

Provide a flexible resource for a department to enhance strategic initiatives within his or her program. |
