Fun Fact:  I am the youngest of five siblings. I have been named to the All U.S.A. Academic Team.
Why UND:  I chose UND because of the way that UND felt to me. Coming from a small town in Northern Minnesota, it just seemed right for me being a transfer student. When I toured UND, I could feel myself walking down the streets making my way to classes and getting involved. That’s also another reason that I chose UND. I had friends who attended UND and they would tell me about their involvement opportunities and that excited me. I enjoy getting involved and holding leadership roles and it seemed that UND would allow me to do just that while getting an awesome undergrad education. UND has also fueled my passion and has led me in the direction of exactly what it is that I want to do career-wise.

Steph Lee

Steph Lee

Clubs/Organizations: Student Ambassador Executive Board, The Big Event Executive Planning Committee, Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society.
Fun Fact: I was an elite rower for many years. I started in middle school and continued on through high school. Our main body of water was the Hudson River, and I participated in school and club rowing. One boat in particular placed third in the Empire State Games, which is similar to an Olympics for New York State.
Why UND: Growing up in New York, I always thought about North Dakota. My parents are from Reynolds, North Dakota, and I still have family in that area. When it came time to look into colleges, I looked at a couple of schools in New York, but none of them really felt right. When I visited UND for the first time in January (yes, the middle of winter), I absolutely loved it. I think what really made my decision easy was the people. Everyone is extremely nice and willing to have a conversation with you. It immediately felt like home, and I knew this was a place I wanted to be.
Career Path: Kinesiology (major); Psychology (minor). Looking to get a Masters Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications.
Hometown: Poughkeepsie, New York
Expected graduation year: May 2016
