The University of North Dakota Foundation is honored to recognized donors’ remarkable lifelong support of the University with honorary membership in the Eternal Flame Society.

The Eternal Flame is one of the UND’s most symbolic and enduring landmarks can be found at Old Main Memorial Plaza, nestled between Twamley and Merrifield Halls, which commemorates Old Main, the first building on UND’s campus.


Lifetime Giving

Adelphi Circle:
$10,000,000 +

Another significant landmark on UND’s campus, the Adelphi Fountain was the first purely decorative fixture on campus, presented to UND by the Adelphi Literary Society in 1908.

1889 Circle:
$5,000,000 - $9,999,999

This Circle celebrates UND’s graduating class of 2 men and 6 women, who pledged to remain connected to their alma mater and formed the Alumni Association of the University of North Dakota.

William Budge Circle:
$1,000,000 - $4,999,999

William Budge was a leading figure among UND’s first group of Trustees, serving from 1891 to 1907.

Thomas Clifford Circle:
$500,000 - $999,999

Thomas Clifford is UND longest-serving leader spending more than 50 years on campus as a student, dean and finally as president, a post he held from 1971 to 1992.

George Starcher Circle:
$100,000 - $499,999

George Starcher's presidency, from 1954 to 1971, shaped many administrative support programs and advocated for increased student scholarship aid while emphasizing the importance of faculty research and scholarly writing.

President’s Circle:
$10,000 - $99,999

Cumulative giving recognition begins with a commitment to bolster support in response to UND’s vision which is shaped and guided by the sitting president.

ANNUAL GIVING

Dacotah Circle
$5,000 - $9,999

Annually, the University of North Dakota Foundation receives private gifts that are important lines of support for priority needs of the University.  First produced in 1904, the Dacotah annual captured the heart and spirit of the University for more than 70 years.

LEGACY GIFTS

Eternal Legacy Circle: Confirmed testamentary commitments to the UND Foundation are honored with recognition in the Eternal Legacy Circle.
